Shows education training:
Question: As salon owners and stylist. When you go to a hair show do you want to just be entertained or do you want to come away feeling that your have learned something useful to add to your skill set?
I was very lucky to be in Seville this past weekend for the Alterego Italy international hair competition. I was lucky enough to be an invited guest two categories. Creative colour and editorial. 6 stylist represented from around the world Australia, Rumania, Columbia, Uk, North America, Italy. Two women took the prizes Australia took creative colour.Italy Editorial. What an event who says that manufacturers don’t support the industry, I think its salon owners and stylists that need to re search who they want to work with and who will support them. A personal thank you to AlterEgo Italy Exclusive professional hair products. check out the link for the media room and show revue and information then browse the web site.
Well done to all finalist very one a winner with out a doubt. Every look style and colour created showed inspiration diversity and individuality in both categories.
If education is as important as the show then what would your priority be. Colour or cutting skills being demonstrated. How interested are you in the products being used? Do you like to see then demonstrated and walked about. Does knowing styling products work help you with your client recommendation and so increase your retail sales.
Final question big event or something more personal? Would going to such an event then lead to looking for some salon education and training or looking at a new product line? Would or do you like to see cutting techniques, razoring techniques, do you like to watch or do you like to ask question and have processes explained?
Can colour do done on stage or should a show just show case colour and techniques enabling a colour technician to explain a process with a live model and visual aids?
Lots of questions here so break down the ones you like. I hope this gets some conversation going.
