Be Blonde be bold be Beige.

I have been writing some reviews on my experience with Alter Ego Italy professional hair colour and products.

This time of the year as the sun gets warmer people start to think about holidays and sun shine, So blonde looks and styles start to get more focus, quite rightly in my book hair colour should change with the season and there sumer is no time to hold back.

Using high lift blonde shades on can create quite dramatic blonde shades and tones with full pigment control with out having to use hair bleach and the toning. In this instance i have a model with natural Level 6 hair and my goal is to get as much lift as possible to attain a natural looking summer beige blonde. The hair has been previously highlighted and some of these still remain I can utilise this to give added tone and texture.

I also want to have some definition as this client has quite fine hair and in some instances fine hair coloured Blonde can look quite thin so my intention is to colour the under-section from a natural level 6  to a rich level 7 I will be using 7.7 and 20 vol or 6%  in the Techno fruit mixing 1 part colour to 1.5 x developer.

Using this level of developer will give me the shade and expose the pigment I can utilise with my choice of shade. Using a lower volume or percentage would compromise my target colour with to much red orange pigment.  These are things we have to consider when making formulation choices I am an advocate of using low volume developers but always keep an open mind.

For the desired Blonde I am going to use “Pure diamond Blonde HL.7” Target colour a controlled “Sandy Beige” with the old highlights showing through. Mixing ration 1 part colour two parts developer 40 vol 0r 12% “Pure light cream developer” with a process time of 40 minutes so the blonde will be applied prior to the darker under section so that all will process to the same completion time planning is essential.

I will apply the high lift to the roots and any hair that has not been previously highlighted. leaving these the older highlights, when doing this application I will wear gloves and work swiftly. Once the colour has developed I will decide on toning the older highlights. working the excess pigment into the hair whilst rinsing might be enough given the sort of contrast I would like to achieve and the porosity of the hair.

The “Be blonde range of products” and the “Pure Diamond blonde” offer a stylist or technician great flexibility when working in shades of blonde.

A retail shampoo and conditioner are also available and recommend for a client to use in conjunction with a toning hair mousse.

The final look on our model is a multi tonal summer blonde with some depth of colour to give the hair more dimension.

I rather like this look with the summer look showing off braids leaving the under section longer allows some versatility to plait this and change the look. The old highlights still show through and have picked up just enough pigment to blend in with wonderful “Sand Beige tone” that has been achieved.  The style was Razor cut creating lots of movement and texture creating a multi dimensional look and style.  The model was is very happy.

Latest comment. Enjoying your book. A lot of thought has gone into this book and to be honest I wish that I had read it while operating a business.
The time and effort in explaining the target clientele was good as I feel that most people wouldn’t even think about it. Your subject with dealing with suppliers was very good. I wish that I had studied when working.
There were a lot of questions and points that I was not asking. My overall view of it is that it is well researched, and has good subjects and points. Currently I am on page 56. so lots to read yet!

I also think that we need to always look at the Why. Ask the question Why are we in business whats it for? OrWhy do we want to go into to business what is success? Why do I suggest this I think by asking and exploring the why we get to the motive behind why we want to be in business what is true success. Why the will also help us to understand our true values this in turn helps us to follow the path to the success we want  and desire. It will help us to surround ourselves with the right team those who share our values and vision.
